2012 Dacia Sandero's Navigation System and Audio Issues: Seeking Experiences and Solutions

Hey! I'm having a few problems with my 2012 Dacia Sandero, petrol engine, clocked 114769km, and really need your opinions. Last time I visited a mechanic, it didn't work out great, so I don't wanna get cheated again. My main issue is that the navigation system seems to be on strike, and I've got an inkling it's somehow linked to the audio system functioning below par. Any of you guys faced a similar glitch with your ride? Would love to hear your experiences and how your mechanic handled it.

Hey, sounds like we've been in the same boat! I've got a 2015 Dacia Duster and had a similar issue last year. Turns out, the control unit and the display weren't communicating well due to a faulty cable connection. Getting into it, my mechanic had to dig into the dashboard to get to the system, then run a diagnostic to confirm it was indeed the cable causing the trouble. Following the verification, he had to order the right cable to replace the defective one. And then the unit and display started to work together again. I wouldn't say it was a major issue, but yeah, a bit of a hassle. But the upside, my mechanic did it right and haven't had any trouble since. You'll probably need to get your mechanic to take a look and see if it's the same thing with your Sandero. Good luck with that!

Hey there, thanks for sharing your ordeal! Sounds like our Dacias have a knack for technology tantrums. Getting directly at it, do you recall roughly what you shelled out to get that cable issue fixed? And since getting it done, has any other system started acting up? I'm just trying to brace myself for what might come next. Cheers in advance!

Hey again! Glad to see my earlier response was of some use. Pretty fun, isn't it, with our Dacias testing our patience from time to time? Regarding your question, I remember I had to cough up around 165€ to sort out the cable connection between the control unit and display. Ever since that issue got fixed, it's been smooth sailing. Specifically, remember how you mentioned the audio system was kinda wonky? Well, since my frisky cable got replaced, my audio system's been running like a dream. Looks like the bad connection was messing around with it. So yeah, don't panic just yet! It's just a little problem for our Dacias. Let your mechanic take a peek under the hood, I'm sure they'll sort it out for you. Anything else you're worried about, just holla. Safe driving!

Cheers for the prompt response! A big relief to hear that the problem isn't as massive as it appeared. Didn't reckon that a cable issue could wreak such havoc with the system. It's good to hear that your Dacia's been behaving after the fix, that sure gives me some hope! I've come across a trusty mechanic in town, guess I'll have him inspect my ride and cross my fingers that it's as you said - just another Dacia problem! Thanks a bunch and I'll keep you posted on my Dacia's progress. Safe rides to you too!
