Hey there! Thanks heaps for your take on my problem, it does seem the alternator might be playing up. Glad to know you've managed to sort it out, makes me a bit less worried. Do you happen to recall how much the repair set you back for? Also, have you faced any related issues with your Murano since you got it fixed up? Have to do a cost-benefit before I decide to hand my Serena over to the mechanics. Appreciate the help!

Hey! Absolutely, I remember those digits. For the repair, the damage was exactly 290€ - that was specifically for setting right the 'Battery voltage too low' issue. I'd say it was money well spent as since then, the good old Murano has been purring like a kitten, no problems at all. As for my earlier engine control issue, which was your original suspicion - it was all sorted out when I visited the mechanic. I've had no reoccurrence since fixing it so I believe the mechanic really knew his stuff. But always keep in mind, just like with any old car, one repair may not mean you're completely out of the woods yet. So, if you decide going through with the repair, make sure you brace yourself for anything further down the road. You gotta keep her running smooth, right? These car adventures can certainly burn a hole in your pocket, but then again, what's the point of a ride if it ain't running. Good luck with your Serena!

Thanks for the heads-up! A price tag of 290€ doesn't seem too brutal considering how much we depend on these metal beasts, right? And it's good to hear your Murano has been behaving nicely after the repair. Fingers crossed, my Serena follows suit and doesn't throw more tantrums anytime soon. I guess I'll go ahead and get her checked out. As you said, gotta keep her purring and what's a ride if it's not running. Will keep you all posted on how it turns out. Thanks again for the advice, really appreciate it!

Hey, you're pretty spot on with your guess! I've got a 2009 Nissan Murano and had a similar issue not too long ago. Thing is, it's less about the engine control and more likely your alternator or your battery that's on its last legs. Dim or flickering lights are classic symptoms of either a failing battery or a dodgy alternator. Starting the car was a chore and to top it off, the battery warning light on the dash would come on. Turns out, the alternator was struggling to keep the battery charged. In my experience, the garage got it all sorted by replacing the battery and the alternator. It's not a massive job but surely an essential one, your ride's gotta have juice to run its thing, right? So, it might be time to bite the bullet and get your vehicle checked out before you find yourself stuck somewhere. Hope this helps and your ride gets back to normal soon.
