    Function radiator blind

The air damper control regulates the air supply for the engine and unit cooling (mounting parts) by opening the radiator blind only when required. Up to 2 radiator blinds can be installed in the front of the car. Due to the available installation space, the motorization and the motor control, the following versions are available for the air flap control.

Variants of the air flap control

passive air flap control via electromagnet

Active air flap control via actuator (radiator blind drive)

active and passive air flap control (electrical drive for the upper radiator blind and electromagnet for the lower radiator blind)

Further information on air flap control

Due to the installation space required in some models the active air flap control cannot be combined with certain optional equipment (e.g. sports package, active steering or active cruise control). The passive air flap control for the lower radiator blind cannot be done on some models with turbocharging. The radiator blind drive with integrated control electronics is a servomotor. The radiator blind drive is connected to an adjustment mechanism. The individual slats of the radiator blind are moved into the respective position via the adjustment mechanism.
