Hey, thanks for the quick reply! Your tip about the wiper switch could be worth its weight in gold. You just reminded me of my last car repair disaster... Do you happen to remember the cost you incurred to fix the problem? And have you had anything else come up since then? Unfortunately, malfunctions often come together. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey, since I got my car out of the garage, the problem with the malfunctioning windshield wiper switch has been solved. The good people there solved the problem with the steering column switch/windshield wiper switch. However, it cost me €530. It wasn't cheap, but what can you do for your car, right? Since then, everything has been running like clockwork!

Oh man, that's pretty expensive! But as you say, what don't you do for your car, right? With your experience, I feel at least a little better prepared now before I take my old clunker to the garage. Wouldn't have thought that stupid little wiper switch could cause so much trouble. Well, thanks again for the quick reply and the valuable information. I hope my mechanic is a little kinder to me this round! Have a good trip. Until the next problem!

Hey buddy, I had a similar problem with my 2011 VW Golf, both the headlight washer and the windshield wiper failed. After visiting my mechanic, it turned out that the main fault was actually with the wiper switch, so you could be right. There was also a problem with the wiper linkage that needed replacing. It was a rather serious issue because without properly functioning wipers, driving in bad weather is obviously pretty garbage. To be honest, it was a bit of a pain, but well, what are you going to do, right? I hope this helps you a bit!
