Weak lights and battery when starting a 2019 Renault Captur Hybrid: Possible defect in the battery sensor

Hi guys, I need your help. I drive a 2019 Renault Captur Hybrid with about 11571 km mileage. Recently I've had some issues - my car's lights are dim or flickering and the battery also seems to be low when starting the engine. I suspect the battery sensor may be broken. Have any of you ever had similar problems and how did your mechanic fix it? My last experience with my mechanic wasn't that great unfortunately, so I'm reaching out to you guys. Thank you very much!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2016 Renault Clio. Last year, my car started quite sluggishly and the lights flickered. I then read out the error and it turned out that the battery sensor microprocessor was defective. My garage replaced the entire sensor. They also had to check the connections to the mains and make sure everything was wired correctly. Wasn't too hard a nut to crack for the mechanic, but still important that it was detected and fixed in time. Stay tuned and good luck!

Hey, interesting that you mention that! I had a similar problem with my Renault Captur. The lights were flickering and starting the engine was a challenge - it sounds like we have the same problem. Your experience helps me understand what to do. Can you remember what the repair cost you? And since you fixed it, have any other problems occurred? Many thanks in advance!

Hey, sure, I can still remember that! I had to pay a total of 315 euros to repair the defective battery sensor microprocessor. Since these faults were fixed, my Renault has been running like clockwork! I was really happy that it was fixed after the visit to the mechanic. Hope everything goes just as smoothly for you!

Cool, that sounds encouraging! Thanks for sharing your experience and the cost with me. I will see my mechanic again and tell him about your findings. Hopefully that can solve my problem and it won't cost more. A sustainable solution is more important to me than a cheap one. Thanks to your help, I feel much better equipped! See you next time!
