Hey, thanks for sharing your bit, it sounds pretty much like the situation I'm in with my Arkana. This battery issue sounds like the typical hidden bugger. Good that you got it sorted soon enough. Could you recall how much you had to shell out to fix it? Hoping not to get a nasty surprise from my mechanic. Also, just curious, did anything else crop up since you addressed the battery and alternator? Appreciate your input!
Hey! Glad my previous input helped a bit. As for the cost, it set me back 290€, primarily for getting the battery issue sorted. Yeah, my pocket felt a bit lighter after that, but hey, at least the car's running smooth! Since I got the battery and alternator checked out, I haven't experienced any more undervoltage signs. I'd say solving that battery problem pretty much put my Renault back on the right track. Just make sure you get a good mechanic to have a look. All the best with your Arkana. Drive safe!
Cheers, bud! Your experience gave me somewhat of a guideline. 290€ doesn't sound too bad if it fixes the problem. Good for you that your Renault isn't giving any more trouble. I'll definitely get it inspected ASAP. I do have a reliable mechanic in mind who has always got my back. Guess I've just been a bit pessimistic because of past bad experiences. Anyway, thanks again for the help, really appreciated! Safe driving to you too!
Hey there! As luck would have it, I also drive a Renault, a 2018 Captur, to be more exact. I faced a sort of similar issue just a while back. It was exactly as you described - weak starts, dim lights; the whole shabang. Took it down to my local garage and turns out, the problem was the battery. Apparently, it was undercharging and thus not giving enough juice to complete all the tasks. It wasn't a super serious issue, more like a silent killer. It could've led to a lot more problems down the road if we didn't catch it in time. We ended up replacing the battery and giving the alternator a good check-up to make sure it wasn't messing up. So, my advice to you would be to get your battery checked pronto! And of course, keep an eye out for the alternator too. Cheers!
