Hey, that's really helpful! To be honest, I hadn't thought that the problem could possibly be coming from the control unit. Do you remember how much the repair cost you back then? And have you encountered any other problems since then? It would be super interesting for me if you remember that. Thanks in advance!

Hey, since the visit to the mechanic, my little Renault is running like clockwork again. The original problem, namely the constant discharge of the vehicle battery, has been fixed. The bill for the defective control unit was a bit steep, €600 to be precise, but since then everything has been tip-top. I haven't had any further problems since. I hope this helps you and that you have a good experience with your garage! Good luck!

Hey, thanks for your quick and detailed reply! To be honest, I think the price of 600€ is somehow okay if it gets my little Twingo running again. You've definitely helped me and also taken away the anxiety I had about my upcoming workshop visit. Thanks to you, I'm now going to the mechanic with a much calmer attitude and a possible source of the fault in my head. A big thank you again and I also hope that everything runs smoothly again afterwards!

Hey, maybe I can give you a little help here. I drive a 2007 Renault Clio and had similar problems. In my case, however, the fault was not in the battery, but in my control unit. The control unit can affect all kinds of electrical systems in the vehicle, including battery power and lighting. It was a serious problem because the car won't run properly without a correct ECU. It takes care of so many systems in the car that it's hard to tell what can go wrong if it's faulty. Once the problem was fixed, however, my car worked flawlessly again. Take a closer look. It could well be that your car has the same symptoms. Maybe the control unit is the cause of your problem. Good luck!
