Warning lights and memory errors in Opel Antara: Possible causes and repair experiences

Check engine light on

Fault stored

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey guys, I'm a bit worried about my Opel Antara from 2013 (gasoline engine, 77267 km mileage). The warning light in my speedometer and the check engine light are both on, plus the memory error. I suspect it could be the fuel filler flap position sensor. Has anyone ever had a similar problem? What was your experience with the repair? I would be grateful for any tips, unfortunately my last visit to the garage wasn't that great. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2016 Opel Mokka. In my case, it was actually the control unit that was faulty. The car was running rough and the indicator lights came on, just like yours. I was made aware of this fault and told that this is a serious problem that should be fixed immediately. They replaced the faulty control unit at the garage and my car has been running like clockwork ever since. Of course it's annoying when you have problems like this, but it does happen. Hope this helps you and keep your fingers crossed that it's not that serious for you. All the best, buddy!

Hey, thanks for the feedback! It's interesting that you had similar problems with your Mokka. Do you remember approximately how much the repair cost? And were there any other problems afterwards or did everything work out fine? I hope it won't be too expensive for me...

Hey, no problem! In my case, replacing the control unit was a major repair that cost me around €1000. Expensive, yes, but since then my Mokka has been easy to drive. And you were right about the position sensor on your fuel filler flap. When I was at the garage, they fixed that too. I had no further problems after that. So, don't worry, get it fixed properly once and you'll notice the difference. All the best, buddy!

Wow, that sounds like a lot of money at first, but when you consider that the car will drive again without any problems afterwards, it's probably worth it. I'm curious to see what the mechanics at the garage have to say. Your experience definitely gives me a good feeling. Thanks again for the help, really nice of you! I hope everything goes smoothly. I'll report back as soon as I know more. See you then and take care, buddy!
