VW Virtus Electrical Issues Linked to Transport Mode

Recently my 2022 VW Virtus started showing multiple electrical issues. The navigation system is completely dead, and I get general electrical malfunction warnings on the dashboard. After doing some research, I suspect the car might be stuck in transport mode. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms and managed to get them fixed? Specifically interested in hearing about diagnostic checks performed by workshops and whether a vehicle setting reset resolved these issues. Looking for tips before booking a service appointment since the engine start and other basic functions still work normally.

As someone with some experience fixing electrical issues, I faced a similar situation with my 2021 VW Polo last year. The symptoms were nearly identical, dead infotainment and multiple electrical warnings. It turned out the vehicle was indeed stuck in transport mode, which happens sometimes with newer vehicles. Since your Virtus is new, this should be covered under warranty. My Polo needed a diagnostic check and software update to resolve the issue. The workshop simply had to perform a vehicle setting reset to take it out of transport mode and reconfigure the car configuration settings. The fix took about an hour and didnt cost anything under warranty. The symptoms completely disappeared after the reset, and everything has worked perfectly since then. To help further, could you share: How many kilometers on the odometer? When did these issues first appear? Did anything specific happen before the problems started? Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes? This information would help determine if your case is similar to what I experienced or if theres something else going on.

Thank you for sharing your experience. My Virtus currently has 24079km and had its last service just two weeks ago. The electrical issues started appearing right after I got the car washed, which might be relevant. I havent tried disconnecting the battery yet since I wanted to gather more information about proper automotive diagnostic steps first. I will note that no car electronics issues were detected during the recent service check, which makes this sudden navigation system failure even more puzzling. Appreciate the tip about the transport mode, will definitely mention this when booking the service appointment. Would a software update alone fix this or should I expect additional vehicle setting adjustments to be needed?

Based on what you mentioned about the car wash timing, this definitely sounds similar to what I experienced with my Polo. Water exposure sometimes triggers electrical system protection modes in newer car electronics configurations. After my initial diagnosis, the workshop actually found moisture had affected some connections, and the system triggered a failsafe mode similar to transport mode. The solution involved both a software update and recalibration of certain modules. The procedure included: Complete system diagnostic scan, Drying and cleaning specific connectors, Software update for the central electronics module, Reset of the immobilizer system, Full vehicle setting reconfiguration Since your recent service showed no issues, and the problems appeared suddenly after the car wash, I strongly suspect water intrusion triggered these warnings. The good news is that the fix should be relatively straightforward, similar to my case. One additional thing to check, does your infotainment unit show any signs of life at all, like a startup screen? In my case, it would occasionally flash briefly before going dark again, which helped the technicians pinpoint the issue faster.

Thank you again for the detailed response. After hearing about your similar experience with water-related issues, I feel more confident about the situation. The infotainment unit does occasionally show a brief flash when starting the car, exactly as you described. This actually gives me hope that the system isnt completely dead and might just need a proper reset and software update. I went ahead and booked a service appointment for next week. I mentioned both the transport mode possibility and the car wash timing to the service advisor. They confirmed theyll do a full diagnostic check and check for any moisture-related issues with the key fob and immobilizer systems as well. Really appreciate the specific information about the repair procedure you shared. It helps to know what to expect and what questions to ask during the service visit. Will update once I get the car checked and know if the fix is similar to what worked for your vehicle.
