Appreciate the detailed response on the door actuator. My situation sounds quite similar, especially the part about moisture damage to the wiring harness. Planning to check this on my Touran too. Quick follow up, do you recall what the repair cost you? Also wondering if the electric door system has worked flawlessly since the fix or if youve noticed any quirks with the door switch or locking system?

The door handle electronics issue was completely resolved after getting it fixed at a professional shop. The mechanic traced it to a faulty cable connection where moisture had created corrosion in the wiring harness. Total cost came to 95€ for replacing and rewiring the affected component. The door locking system has worked perfectly since the repair, no more error codes or problems with the keyless entry. The door switch and mechanism respond instantly now, which shows it was definitely a wiring fault causing the original issues. Looking back, the investment was worth it to have the problem properly diagnosed and fixed rather than trying temporary solutions. These wiring issues in the door mechanism tend to get worse if left unaddressed.

After seeing the replies, I decided to take my Touran to a certified VW mechanic. Good thing I did, turned out the door handle wiring was severely corroded, just like the other cases mentioned. The sensor issue was causing the keyless entry to malfunction. The repair took about 3 hours. They had to replace part of the wiring harness and install a new door actuator. Total cost was 320€, which was more than expected but worth it. The door locking system now works perfectly, and all error codes are gone. What really helped was going to a specialist who knew these specific car door problems. They even showed me the damaged parts and explained how moisture had affected the door mechanism over time. Definitely glad I didn't attempt any DIY fixes on this one.

Had the same problem last year with my 2011 VW Tiguan TDI. The door actuator stopped responding and the keyless entry system completely failed. The onboard error pointed to the door mechanism, but the real culprit was a damaged wiring harness inside the driver door. The door locking system issues often start with intermittent function before complete failure. In my case, the mechanic found corroded connector pins where the wiring harness meets the door actuator. Moisture had gotten into the connection over time, causing sensor issues and false signals to the central locking system. The repair required removing the door panel, replacing the damaged section of the wiring harness, and installing a new door actuator since the original one had internal damage from the electrical issues. It was a serious repair that took several hours because accessing the components inside the door frame is complex. Worth noting that these door mechanism problems are somewhat common in VAG vehicles from that generation. A proper diagnosis using a VW-specific diagnostic tool is essential since generic scanners often misread these sensor issue codes.
