Hey, I took my car to the mechanic after that because the smoke and the jerking just didn't get any better. Fortunately, the garage was right - it was actually the ignition coil that was defective and causing some misfiring. They were able to fix it quite quickly. But now to the important thing: In my case, the engine control unit was also faulty and it cost me €1000 to replace it and reprogram everything. That may sound like a lot, but after that it was really quiet. No smoke, no jerking, and the check engine light also stayed off. So yes, it was definitely worth it. Hope this helps you and you get your problem under control soon! Best regards!

Hey, thanks for your feedback! Of course, €1000 is a lot of money, but if everything runs smoothly again afterwards, it's certainly worth it. I'll probably have my ignition coils and the engine control unit checked. I hope that there will be no more problems after that. Best regards and thanks again!

Hey, I drive a 2009 VW Golf and had similar problems a few months ago. I had black smoke, rough engine running and the check engine light was on. In addition, the engine often stalled at idle. After a few tests, it turned out that the engine control unit was faulty. The engine control unit (ECU) is the brain of the car, so to speak, and controls many important functions. In my case, it was a serious matter and required the ECU to be replaced. The garage had to order the part, install it and then reprogram it. The whole thing took a while, but afterwards the car ran again without any problems. If this sounds familiar, have your ECU checked. It's definitely a more serious issue, but a good mechanic should be able to fix it. Good luck!
