Thanks for sharing your T-Cross experience. I had a similar speedometer malfunction in my Taigo last month. The throttle body was actually causing the issue, which was discovered during diagnostics at the shop. The actuator needed to be replaced and some wiring near the steering wheel had to be repaired. Would you mind sharing how much the repair cost in your case? Also wondering if youve had any recurring issues since the fix? My repair has been holding up well so far but always good to know what to watch out for.

Just got the repair done on my T-Cross last week. The non-functional cruise control was fixed by addressing a faulty system connection in the wiring harness. The total cost came to 95€, which covered the repair of a damaged cable connection near the control module. Since the fix, the cruise control has worked flawlessly. The car electronics are all functioning normally now, and the error messages have completely cleared from the system. The speedometer is also working perfectly, confirming it was indeed linked to the same wiring issue. The key was finding a technician who properly diagnosed the problem in the fuse box area and surrounding connections. Much simpler fix than initially expected, and significantly less expensive than replacing entire components. No recurring issues at all since the repair, everything is working exactly as it should. Your throttle body repair sounds more complex than what I dealt with, but glad to hear its holding up well for you too.

Thanks for the advice. I took my Taigo to a new mechanic who specializes in VW electronics. The throttle body actuator was indeed malfunctioning, causing both the cruise control and speedometer issues. The repair took about 3 hours and cost 380€, including a complete system diagnostic. The mechanic found that the wiring near the throttle body had significant wear, which wasnt spotted during my previous service visits. They replaced the damaged wiring and recalibrated the entire system. The fuse box connections were also checked and cleaned as a precaution. After two weeks of driving, everything works perfectly now. No more error messages and the cruise control functions just like new. Really glad I got a second opinion instead of going back to my previous shop. The detailed diagnosis made all the difference in getting it fixed right the first time.

Having experienced a similar cruise control malfunction on my 2020 VW T-Cross, I can relate to this situation. The root cause was a faulty system connection between the speed sensor and the control module. The repair involved: Testing all fuse box connections related to cruise control, Replacing a damaged wiring harness near the brake pedal sensor, Recalibrating the entire cruise control system, Clearing the error codes from the diagnostic system This was a significant repair that required specialized diagnostic equipment. The speed sensor connection issue affected both the cruise control and speedometer since they share the same input signals. The problem progressively worsened over time, starting with intermittent cruise control failures before affecting the speedometer. The repair took about 4 hours at the workshop. While not the most complex repair, it required careful diagnosis since similar symptoms can stem from multiple causes. Having the error codes from diagnostics helped narrow down the issue quickly. For your Taigo, I suggest having them specifically check the wiring connections and speed sensor functionality since these components commonly cause such issues in VW models.
