VW Taigo Air Suspension Failing, Multiple Warning Signs

My Taigo has been acting up lately with suspension issues. The ride height keeps dropping and the car leans noticeably to one side. Getting multiple warning lights and errors in the dash, plus the headlights are pointing all wrong. Pretty sure the air suspension compressor is the culprit. Anyone dealt with similar symptoms and had them fixed? Car details: 2021 VW Taigo, gas engine, 20212km. Mainly wondering about repair costs and repair shop experiences, since my last mechanic visit wasnt great.

Had the exact same issue on my 2018 VW T-Roc. The air suspension system was malfunctioning due to a faulty connection between the level sensor and the control module. The symptoms matched perfectly, uneven ride height, suspension warning lights, and misaligned headlights. The air struts themselves were fine, but the wiring harness had corroded at the connector points. This affected the suspension components ability to communicate properly with the control unit. It was causing incorrect readings which made the system adjust the ride height incorrectly. The repair involved replacing the wiring harness and recalibrating the entire air suspension system. While not the most expensive fix for air suspension issues, it required specialized diagnostic equipment to properly reset all parameters. The work took about 4 hours since they needed to verify all suspension components were communicating correctly after the repair. This is actually a known weak point in these models that can cause progressive suspension system deterioration if left unchecked. Regular inspection of the wiring connections is recommended to catch any corrosion early.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the T-Roc suspension problem. The wiring harness issue you described sounds exactly like what my Taigo is doing with the load leveling system acting up. Did you remember roughly how much the repair cost in the end? Also curious if youve had any air leaks or other suspension pump problems since getting it fixed. Really helps to know what to expect when I take it to the shop.

After getting it properly diagnosed, it turned out to be a much simpler fix than initially expected. The repair shop found a damaged cable connection to the air suspension compressor that was causing the malfunction. Total cost came to 95€ for fixing the faulty plug connection, which was significantly less than I feared. Since the repair, the suspension system has been working flawlessly. No more air leaks, uneven ride height issues, or warning lights. The suspension components are all communicating properly now, and the air struts maintain correct pressure. The headlights also stay properly aligned since the suspension system is keeping proper ride height. The key was finding a shop that properly diagnosed the electrical connection rather than assuming major suspension components needed replacement. Regular checks of these connections can prevent similar issues from developing again.

Thanks again for all the replies. Just wanted to update everyone on how it turned out. Took the car to a different repair shop this time and had a much better experience. The mechanic found the same wiring issue mentioned here, a corroded connector affecting the load leveling system. The compressor failure warnings were actually just from the bad connection, not a real suspension components problem. They cleaned the contacts, replaced the damaged wiring section, and recalibrated the system. Only paid 120€ for parts and labor, way less than I expected. Car has been perfect for the past week, proper ride height on all corners, no more warning lights, and headlights are properly aligned again. No air leaks either. Really glad I asked here first instead of letting the previous shop replace expensive parts unnecessarily. Definitely recommend getting a second opinion if the initial diagnosis seems off. A reputable shop with proper diagnostic equipment made all the difference in finding the real issue.
