Hey there, Sounds like the same headache I'm going through with my Spacefox! I'm relieved to know that I was on the right path thinking about the Vehicle Lock. And yes getting stuck with a non-starting car isn't exactly what I call fun either! It is mind-blowing we have reprogram our keys with this modern tech and whatnot. You'd think it would be simpler, wouldn't you? Sure is a far cry from the trusty spanner and elbow grease days, eh? Well, I'm gonna swing by the garage and check this out with them. Curious, do you recall how much you had to shell out for the diagnosis, reprogramming, and testing? And has the same issue cropped up again for you since, or has it been smooth sailing? Thanks a bunch in advance.
Hey there, You've hit the nail on the head there! The old spanner and elbow grease method sure isn't up to snuff anymore, not with all this modern tech and gizmos in our motors. Welcome to the future, eh? Now, for the damage to the wallet, I can tell you it was thankfully not that bad. The reprogramming malarkey set me back by 45.00 €. And so far, touch wood, things have been smooth sailing since. I've not had a repeat of the key messing up since I visited the garage. They sorted it good and proper. So, I reckon it's well worth getting it looked at, despite the inconvenience. Anyways, hope your garage trip sorts out your Spacefox troubles. Good luck, and keep us posted!
Hiya, Ha, well, the future doesn’t seem so cozy when it starts acting up, eh? But thanks for the advice really appreciate it. I'm glad to hear that yours got sorted without burning a hole in your pocket. 45.00 € doesn't sound too shabby at all. I honestly thought it would've been worse considering our cars have more tech than an alien spaceship! Enough of my rambling, I'm off to arrange an appointment with the garage pronto. I'm relieved to hear from someone who's been through the same mess and grateful, you've made the whole situation seem a lot less daunting. Fingers crossed, my Spacefox gets cured with a simple key reprogramming just like your Golf. Will definitely let you know when I have an update. Again, thanks a talk soon!
Hey! I reckon you're on the right track there. I had a similar fuss with my 2013 VW Golf. It was a rough few days getting stuck in the middle of nowhere with a car playing dead, believe me. The issue turned out to be incorrect key programming alright. The car's onboard computer just wasn't recognizing the chip in my key. Happens more frequently than you might think, really. Vehicle theft is a big concern, so these cars are designed to shut down if they can't authenticate the key. It’s a bit of a serious issue, not your typical maintenance stuff. So, off to the garage I went. Took them a day to diagnose, reprogram and test the key. The service I got was decent, despite my initial worries of finding a mechanic reliable enough. Remember, you're looking for someone competent with car electronics not just your typical old-school mechanic. The complexity of these modern vehicles keeps technicians on their toes. Hang in there. You'll get your VW Spacefox running smoothly again in no time. Good luck!
