Hey, it's pretty annoying that you're now having such problems with your Scirocco. But it really sounds like it could be something with the battery, as you've already described. Do you remember how much you paid for the repair? And has anything else similar occurred since then or was it fixed? Thank you!

After I went to the mechanic, the fault in the door handle electronics was rectified. Since then everything has been running like clockwork again, no more similar incidents. However, the repair of the control unit cost me €600, not exactly a penny. But what won't you do for your car, right? Hope this helps you!

Ah, thank you both! I honestly wouldn't have known where to put it. I really thought the problem was with the outside door handle electronics! I'll contact my garage straight away tomorrow and ask for the battery to be checked. The information that it could also be the battery is really valuable. And oh dear, €600 is of course a lot, but you're right, what you won't do for your car. I just hope that it might be a bit cheaper for me after all. Thanks again for your help, guys! You are the best!

Hi, I had a similar situation with my 2012 VW Beetle, where the doors only opened occasionally and sometimes the lights flickered. However, the fault was not with the exterior door handle electronics, but with the battery. It was probably quite faulty and therefore caused the strange symptoms. It then had to be replaced in the workshop - it was quite a job and more serious than I thought. Hope this helps you!
