Hey, thanks for your reply. Yes, I also drive a petrol car, a 2012 Passat. I haven't had the fault memory checked yet, but that's a good idea, thanks! As for the mileage, I have around 132363 km on the clock. No major problems were found at the last service, but I'll probably have the fan checked anyway. Thank you very much for the tip! Greetings!

Hello, no problem, you're welcome! With your 2012 Passat and its mileage, the fan could well be the problem. But you really should have the fault memory read out at the garage, that will give you an indication of what could be wrong. In my Golf, the temperature sensor was also defective, which I would never have found out without reading out the fault memory. The repair cost me about 50 euros, including labor. So not a big item, but measurable progress. Keep me posted on how things progress! Perhaps we can then work on the solution together. Greetings back!

Hey, that's really helpful, thanks! I'll definitely have the fault memory read out and maybe check the temperature sensor too. Your experience gives me a good feeling of what I can expect. And the costs also seem to be manageable. I'll let you know as soon as I have any news! Thanks again and see you soon. Greetings!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2010 VW Golf. I'm not an expert, but I do have some experience with cars. At my garage, they said the engine fan was faulty. I paid 595 euros for the repair at the time. But everything ran smoothly again afterwards. To clarify: Which model are you driving and is it a petrol engine? Has your garage ever read out the fault memory? Greetings!
