VW Nivus Speedometer Error Linked to Signal Light Fault

I'm having the exact same problem with my Nivus at 115605km. Just had it serviced last month and the issue appeared shortly after. The indicator is now flashing faster than usual and the check engine light has come on. The error messages persist even after cycling the ignition. I have noticed additional electrical faults with the dashboard dimming occasionally. A signal lamp replacement might fix it, but based on your experience, I will have the wiring harness checked first to avoid wasting time and money on unnecessary bulb replacements. Has anyone tried cleaning the connector before replacing the entire harness? Wondering if that could be a cheaper solution to fix the electrical fault.

Thanks for the additional details about your Nivus. Like you, I first noticed these issues shortly after servicing on my T-Cross. The fast flashing indicator light and electrical faults sound identical to what I experienced. While cleaning the connector might seem like a cost-effective solution, I tried that approach first and it only provided temporary relief. The flasher relay continued triggering errors and the electrical fault symptoms returned within days. Based on the dashboard dimming you mentioned, which I also noticed, this strongly suggests a broader electrical issue rather than just a turn indicator problem. When the workshop investigated my car, they found corrosion inside the connector that had spread beyond the contact points. My advice based on direct experience: Skip the connector cleaning attempt, Have the full wiring harness inspected professionally, Request checking the ground connections while they are at it, Consider having the flasher relay tested as well The good news is that once the wiring harness was properly fixed, all associated problems disappeared completely. No more error messages, normal indicator speed, and stable dashboard lighting. Would you be able to check if the connector near your front indicator shows any visible signs of wear or damage? This could help confirm if you are dealing with the same root cause.

Thanks for the input regarding the wiring harness. Just checked the connector near the front turn indicator and noticed some obvious wear marks on the protective covering. You are right about skipping the cleaning attempt since these symptoms match exactly what you described. I will book the car in next week to have the complete wiring harness and ground connections inspected. The fast-flashing turn signal combined with the dashboard electrical issues really does point to a bigger problem than just a faulty bulb. Hopefully replacing the harness will resolve all these electrical fault messages. Will post an update once the repair is completed to let others know if this fixed the indicator light problems and error codes. I suspect the recent service work might have accidentally disturbed some connections, leading to these issues. Anyone else experienced similar automotive lighting problems after routine maintenance? Would be good to know what to watch out for during future services.

As someone with moderate experience working on VWs, I had a similar issue with my 2021 VW T-Cross. The turn indicator problems and error messages you describe match exactly what I encountered. Initially thought it was just a basic automotive lighting issue requiring a turn signal bulb replacement. However, the workshop discovered the root cause was actually a damaged wiring connector near the front right indicator light assembly. The constant vibration had worn through some of the protective covering, causing intermittent connection issues. The repair involved replacing the wiring harness connector and securing it properly. Total cost was 95€ including diagnostic work. After fixing the connection, all error messages disappeared and the turn signal worked perfectly again. Before jumping to conclusions, could you share: Has the check engine light come on? Does the turn indicator flash faster than normal? Are there any other electrical issues present? Have you recently had any front-end damage or repairs? This information would help determine if your issue matches what I experienced or if it might be something different.
