VW Golf 2013 seat heating not working: experiences and suggested solutions

Hello community, I have a small problem with my 2013 VW Golf (petrol, 109864 km). The seat heating is on strike. Last time, the experience with my mechanic was not the best, so I would like to hear your opinion. Have any of you had experience with seat heater failure? How was it with your mechanic? Many thanks for your help.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2010 VW Passat. The problem was actually serious because the whole electrical system in the car was affected, not just the seat heating. On my last visit to the garage, they had to replace the entire heating circuit and also partially re-route the wiring in the car. It was quite a lot of work and took some time. I hope it's not quite as complicated for you. Good luck with it!

Hello, thank you for your feedback. That sounds like a pretty complicated problem you had with your Passat. Do you happen to remember how much the whole thing cost you? And has anything else similar occurred since then? I'd be really grateful for any further information.

Hey, after the workshop visit, the problem with the failure of the seat heating was solved. I had to pay €390 to repair the defective heating mat in the seat backrest. Fortunately, I haven't had any more problems with the electrics since then. I hope that your Golf works just as well! All the best with it!

Hello, thank you for your helpful comment. Quite expensive, but the most important thing is that the problem has been fixed. I guess I will go to a mechanic after all to find out if it's a similar problem. But thanks again for your help. Really appreciate it!
