Got good news to share since my last reply. The automotive repair was completely successful, no more engine light or ventilation issues since fixing those clogged hoses in the EVAP system. Total cost came to 175€, which covered both parts and labor. The purge valve replacement and thorough system cleaning really solved the problem. The tank ventilation is working perfectly now, no stalling, no warning lights, and the engine runs smoothly at idle. After six months, I havent noticed any related issues coming back. The shop did a thorough job checking all components of the EVAP system to prevent future problems. If your check engine light starts acting up again, having the ventilation lines inspected early can prevent bigger issues. Regular maintenance of the EVAP system components is key to avoiding those frustrating tank pressure problems we both experienced.

I finally decided to get my Bora fixed after getting this helpful advice. Found a certified VW specialist who really knew what they were doing with fuel tank ventilation systems. Had exactly this issue with a 2005 VW Golf 1.6L. The check engine light started flashing and the engine would stall at idle, classic symptoms of a tank ventilation system fault.
