Hi, thanks for your reply. It sounds exactly like my symptoms, it's really annoying. Good to know it's been resolved for you. Do you remember roughly what you paid for the repair? And has anything else happened since then, or is your VW now running smoothly? Kind regards.

Hi, sure, no problem. So, after I took the car to the mechanic, the problem with the charge air temperature sensor was fixed. Sometimes it's just a small component that causes a lot of trouble. It cost me 155 euros to repair the wiring harness and plug. A really fair price, I have to say. Nothing else has come up since then, my VW is now running like a charm again. Hopefully you can solve your problem just as quickly, fingers crossed! Good luck!

Great, thanks for the information! That reassures me a little. I'll just take my car to a garage now and hope that it won't be too expensive. Nice to hear that your VW is now running smoothly again. That gives me hope for mine! Thanks again and best wishes!

What is the defect p0111
The P0111 code indicates an issue with the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor, which measures the air temperature entering the engine. This can affect engine performance and fuel efficiency. Start by checking the sensor's wiring and connections for any damage or corrosion. If the wiring looks fine, the sensor itself might need to be tested or replaced. Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2007 VW Passat. The same symptoms like black smoke when accelerating, loss of engine power and this loud hissing when accelerating. A real nightmare, I must say. I took my car to the garage and they did a thorough check. It turned out that there was a serious problem with the turbocharger. It wasn't just the charge air temperature sensor. They had to replace the turbocharger completely, and fortunately the problem was solved after that. But yes, get your car checked thoroughly. It could be more than just a sensor problem. Hope that helps! Regards.
