Thanks for sharing your experience with the washer system failure. Had this fixed on my Arteon last summer with similar symptoms, no spray despite full tank and non-working headlight cleaning. The issue kept recurring until they found a tiny leak in the connection point. Did your repair hold up well since then? Would be good to know if any other issues came up and what the total repair cost was since I need to budget for this fix.

The repair has been completely reliable since getting it properly fixed. After finding the faulty cable connection to the pump and replacing the corroded relay, both the main washer and headlight cleaning system work perfectly. No fault messages or leaks have appeared in the system. The total repair cost came to 165€ which covered the electrical work and replacement parts. Much better value than repeatedly fixing temporary solutions. The LED and xenon light cleaning functions properly now without any system errors. Looking back, the key was finding a technician who thoroughly diagnosed the electrical fault rather than just assuming it was a basic leak issue. Make sure they check the pump connections and relay when you take it in, as these are common failure points in these washer systems.

Finally got the washer system fixed yesterday after your advice. The mechanic found exactly what you mentioned, a damaged hose connection and faulty pump relay. Repair cost was 180€, which seemed fair considering the work involved. The technician did a thorough check of the electrical system first, which saved time pinpointing the real issue. They replaced both the main pump and corroded relay, plus fixed a small leak in the washer fluid hose near the headlight cleaning system. The xenon headlight washers now work perfectly again, and the windshield spray is strong and consistent. No more system warning messages on the dash. Really glad I pushed for a complete diagnosis instead of accepting another quick fix that wouldnt last.

Had the exact same malfunction on my VW Passat 2015 last winter. The pump system completely failed to spray washer fluid, despite a full tank. After inspection, the issue turned out to be a combination of problems. The main hose had a leak near the connection point, and the pump relay was corroded due to moisture intrusion. The xenon headlight washer system was also affected since it shares the same pump. The repair involved: Complete replacement of the washer fluid pump, New hose assembly installation, Relay replacement, System pressure test This was a moderate repair job that took about 2 hours. The malfunction is quite common in VW models from that generation. Worth checking the fuse first, but if that looks good, its likely the pump or relay connection causing the issue. Important to fix this promptly as a faulty washer system can lead to visibility issues and potential headlight cleaning system damage, especially in models equipped with xenon lights.
