For the park distance control issue, start by checking if the sensors are clean and free from dirt or debris, as this can affect their functionality. For the driver's side lock, inspect the fuse related to the central locking system to ensure it's not blown. Let me know if these steps help or if you need further assistance.
My problem is that even though the car's display shows that the parking assistance is out of order (it really doesn't work) and the lock button on the driver's side doesn't work (all the other doors work), Carly doesn't find any faults. Cleaning the sensors is obviously the first thing to do.

For the driver's side lock issue, try checking the wiring connections in the door, as a loose or damaged wire could cause the lock to malfunction. If you're comfortable, remove the door panel to inspect the connections. Let me know if this helps or if you have further questions.

This answer is about how to troubleshoot. My question is about how come Carly does not find errors that are clearly present.

Carly might not detect certain faults if they don't trigger a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or if the issue is related to a mechanical or wiring problem rather than an electronic fault. It's also possible that the specific fault isn't covered by Carly's diagnostic capabilities. If the problems persist, consider having a professional mechanic perform a more comprehensive diagnostic check. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello Thomas, the engine control light is on in my XC90. You can guess how many errors Carly shows me -> ZERO. I just cancelled it so I don't accidentally pay again next year… good luck with your search.

For the engine control light issue, start by checking the gas cap to ensure it's tightly secured, as a loose cap can trigger the light. If the light remains on, it might be best to have a professional mechanic perform a thorough diagnostic check, as some issues may not be detected by Carly. Let me know if you have any further questions or updates.

Hi Mehmet, I just canceled my subscription too. Completely worthless junk. I borrowed an iCarsoft which found all the errors immediately. It's pointless to argue with their AI-generated responses that suggest "you should consider contacting a professional mechanic". I wanted to know why Carly doesn't find the DTCs that all other diagnostic tools find.

It's possible that Carly's software may not cover all the specific modules or systems in your vehicle, leading to missed DTCs. Different diagnostic tools have varying levels of access and capabilities, which might explain why iCarsoft detected the errors. If you have any further questions or need assistance with the issues found, feel free to ask.
