Thanks for sharing your experience with the LaCrosse. My Velite had the exact same symptoms last year, the stalling and sensor signal problems were a real headache. Got it fixed at a specialized shop after the dealer couldnt resolve it. Im curious, what was your total repair cost? My fuel rail pressure sensor replacement put me back quite a bit, but the diesel engine has been running perfectly since then. No more engine stalling or power issues. Have you had any other problems pop up after the repair was done?

I paid 240€ for the complete rail pressure sensor replacement and calibration. The fix solved the diesel engine stalling completely, and I havent experienced any sensor signal issues since. The repair was worth every penny considering the potential damage a faulty pressure sensor could cause to the engine. The specialized shop diagnosed it correctly right away, unlike my previous attempts at the dealership. They showed me the defective sensor and explained how the faulty signals were causing the erratic engine behavior. The fuel delivery system has worked flawlessly for over 18 months now. No check engine lights, no power loss, and no more stalling issues. Just make sure to get regular fuel system maintenance to prevent similar problems from developing.

After the local dealership couldnt fix it, I went to a specialized shop with experience in hybrid fuel injection systems. The mechanic did a thorough diagnostic and found multiple issues with the rail pressure sensor and its wiring harness. The repair took about 5 hours total and cost around €850. They replaced the fuel rail pressure sensor, cleaned all connections, and performed a complete system calibration. The engine performance has been solid since the fix, no more stalling or power loss issues. The check engine light hasnt come back either. The shop explained that these pressure sensor failures are somewhat common in hybrid models with high mileage. Regular fuel system maintenance helps prevent similar problems. Im glad I went with the specialized shop instead of going back to the dealer. The proper diagnosis and repair saved me from potential long-term engine damage. Overall relieved to have this fixed properly. The car runs like new again and the diesel engine performance is back to normal. Definitely worth the investment to have it done right by experienced technicians who understand hybrid fuel systems.

I experienced similar symptoms with a 2015 Buick LaCrosse Hybrid. The check engine light and stalling issues were caused by a faulty fuel rail pressure sensor signal. My initial symptoms matched yours, power loss, unusual stalling at idle, and inconsistent engine performance. The sensor was misreading fuel pressure, causing the fuel injection system to malfunction. This created irregular fuel delivery patterns which led to the stalling. This turned out to be a serious issue requiring immediate attention. The defective sensor was causing the engine control module to receive incorrect data, leading to potential long-term engine damage if left unrepaired. The repair involved: Complete diagnostic testing of the fuel system, Replacement of the rail pressure sensor, Recalibration of the fuel injection system, System pressure testing, Multiple test drives to confirm fix The entire process took about 6 hours at the shop. While the repair itself wasnt overly complex, proper diagnosis was crucial. Make sure your shop has experience with hybrid fuel systems, as proper calibration is essential for optimal engine performance. Would suggest having them check the wiring harness connections too, as corroded terminals can cause similar sensor signal issues.
