Vectra's Frozen Mirrors: Common Heating Element Issues

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2004 Vauxhall Astra Diesel (and I've also owned a Corsa). I have some experience working on cars, but mostly basic maintenance stuff. I took mine to my regular workshop last winter for the same problem. Turned out it was just a faulty connection in the wiring, the plug that connects to the mirror heating element was corroded and loose. The mechanic had to replace the connector and rewire it. Cost me about 155€ all in, and it's been working perfectly since then. Before jumping to conclusions though, could you tell me if both mirrors are affected or just one? Also, have you noticed any other electrical issues with your mirrors (like adjustment not working)? This info would help narrow down if you're dealing with the same problem I had.
