Thanks for sharing that! Had no idea the control module could cause so many problems. Mind if I ask roughly how much you paid for all that work? Also, has everything been running smoothly since the repair, or have you noticed any other electrical niggles? I'm a bit worried now that mine might need the same extensive work. Might give Jackson & Sons a look since they seem to know their stuff with Vauxhalls.
Hey again! Just to update you, I actually got my car sorted last week! The total bill came to 102.50€ for fixing the faulty "A" lamp, and I'm happy to report that the indicator issue is completely resolved now. Everything's working like a charm, no more flickering or dimming. Since getting it fixed at Jackson & Sons, I haven't had any electrical problems at all. The headlights are properly aligned and bright as they should be. Honestly, it was worth every penny, and it turned out to be a much simpler fix than I initially thought it might be. If you're still thinking about taking yours in, I'd definitely recommend them. They're pretty straightforward with their diagnosis and pricing, and they really know their Vauxhalls. Much better than dealing with ongoing issues that could get worse, you know? Let me know if you end up going there, would be interested to hear if they sort your issue as quickly as they did mine!
Thanks so much for all the info! I actually took your advice and went to Jackson & Sons yesterday. You were right, they were fantastic! My issue turned out to be different from yours though. The main problem was just some loose connections and a blown fuse that was causing the flickering. They fixed it all up for only 75€, which was a huge relief since I was expecting much worse! Everything's working perfectly now, both beams are properly aligned and bright as new. No more flickering or dimming issues at all. Such a weight off my mind, especially since I do a lot of night driving. Really glad I asked here and got your recommendation, saved me from probably spending way more at the dealership. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Definitely keeping Jackson & Sons in my contacts for future repairs. Sometimes these car problems turn out to be simpler than we expect, right? Really appreciate all your help with this!
Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2017 Vauxhall Crossland X Hybrid last month. The symptoms you're describing sound very familiar, my headlights were acting up the same way. After taking it to my trusted mechanic, it turned out to be more than just a simple misalignment. The headlight control module was failing, which caused the flickering and dimming. The wiring harness also needed some attention. It wasn't just a quick fix, they had to replace the module and rewire some connections. In my case, it was pretty serious since faulty headlights are a safety issue, especially for night driving. The repair involved: Replacing the headlight control module, Rewiring the connections, Recalibrating the headlight system, Testing all lighting functions The job took about 4 hours. Got it sorted at Jackson & Sons Garage, they specialize in Vauxhall hybrids. Since you're having issues with both beams, I'd recommend getting it checked soon, these problems usually don't fix themselves.
