Thanks for the tip about the fuse! Mine's a 1.4L gasoline model with 217616 KM on the clock. I'll definitely check the fuse box first, haven't done any work under the dash recently, but I guess things can come loose on their own sometimes. Just had it serviced last month and everything was fine then. Really hope it's something as simple as a loose fuse like in your case!
Hey again! Thanks for the extra info about your Adam. You know what? After I posted about my fuse issue, I actually remembered something else that might be helpful. My Corsa had another similar episode about 6 months before the fuse incident, same symptoms and everything. That time, it wasn't the fuse but turned out to be a corroded connection in the brake light wiring harness. The garage found it pretty quick since they'd seen it before on other Vauxhalls of our generation. Since you mentioned yours has quite a few kilometers on it (mine's about the same, around 200K), and you've just had it serviced, might be worth checking those connections too. They're usually near the brake pedal assembly. Mine had gotten a bit crusty from water seeping in over the years, pretty common issue actually! If it's not the fuse, maybe get your mechanic to take a look at those connections? The fix was pretty cheap in my case, just needed a cleanup and some dielectric grease. Way better than replacing sensors unnecessarily! Let me know how you get on with the fuse check though, fingers crossed it's that simple!
Thanks so much for all this detailed info! Just checked the fuses and unfortunately they all seem to be properly seated and in good condition. But you might be onto something with that corroded connection tip, makes total sense given the age and mileage of my car. I'll get my mechanic to check those brake light wiring connections tomorrow. Really appreciate you sharing your experiences, helps narrow down the possibilities and potentially saves me from unnecessary parts replacement! I'll update once I figure out what's actually causing the issue. Thanks again!
Hey there! I have some experience with cars and had a similar issue on my 2016 Vauxhall Corsa last year. The symptoms were exactly the same, warning lights, dead pedal feel, the works! Turned out I had accidentally knocked a fuse loose while checking something else under the dash. Simply pushed it back in, and everything went back to normal. Didn't cost me a penny to fix! Before you start spending money on repairs, could you check your fuse box? Also, what's the exact trim level of your Adam, and have you done any recent work around the pedal area or under the dash? These electrical gremlins can be tricky, but sometimes it's just something super simple!
