Thanks for sharing your experience! My Adam has actually been pretty reliable up until now (only 10282 KM on the clock and just had its service). Mine's the gasoline version, and yeah, I'm getting those unusual alignment changes while driving, super annoying at night! Haven't noticed any weird noises when turning the lights on though. That repair cost you mentioned is a bit scary, but if it's the same issue, guess I'll have to bite the bullet. Hoping my local garage might give me a better quote!
Hey again! Yeah, those unusual alignment changes while driving were exactly what I experienced with my Corsa too. Since you're not hearing any strange noises, that's actually a good sign, when my leveling motor was failing, it made this awful grinding sound before it completely gave up. Given that your Adam has such low mileage, you might be in luck! I'd definitely suggest checking if it's still under warranty, I know Vauxhall offers 3 years/60,000 miles on these components. My Corsa was unfortunately just out of warranty when mine failed (typical, right?). Also, since you mentioned you just had a service, did they say anything about the headlight system? Sometimes it can just be a sensor that needs recalibrating, which would be way cheaper than what I had to pay. My local garage actually told me later that if I'd caught it earlier, it might've been a simpler fix. Let me know what your garage says, curious to hear if they quote you less than what I paid. Fingers crossed it's just something minor!
Thanks a lot for all the info! Unfortunately, I checked and my warranty expired last year, just my luck! The service guys didn't mention anything about the headlights actually, which is a bit frustrating since it might've been caught earlier. I've booked it in at my local garage for next Tuesday, so I'll definitely ask them to check the sensors first before jumping into any expensive repairs. Really appreciate your help with this, it's good to know what to expect and what to ask them to look at. I'll keep my fingers crossed for that cheaper fix you mentioned! Will update the thread once I know what's what. Thanks again!
Hey there! I have some experience with cars and had a similar issue with my 2014 Vauxhall Corsa last year, funny enough, almost the same problem. The servomotor in the headlight system went bad, causing misalignment and dashboard warnings. Took it to my trusted mechanic, and they diagnosed a faulty headlight leveling motor. The whole thing, including parts and labor, set me back about 1040€, not cheap, but it needed fixing. Could you tell me if you're hearing any unusual noises when the headlights activate, or if the alignment changes out of nowhere while driving? Also, which engine variant does your Adam have? This would help me share more specific details about what you might be dealing with.
