Urgent: Q5 Diesel Oil Pressure Warning After Service

Thanks for sharing your A6 experience. That sounds like a similar situation to my Q5 issue. After reading this I took it to a specialist right away rather than waiting. They found contaminated oil and metal particles, likely from the previous low quality oil filter causing improper filtration. The oil leak was caught early enough to prevent major engine damage. The repair involved a complete oil system flush, new oil filter, and fresh oil change with the correct grade. Curious, what was your total repair cost for the oil pump replacement and other work? Also wondering if you had any lingering issues after the repair was completed?

Got good news to share about my A6 repair. Since having the mechanic fix everything, the oil contamination issue was fully resolved with no lingering problems. I was lucky the maintenance interval issue was caught before causing permanent engine damage. The repair total came to 165 Euro which covered the system flush, new oil filter, and proper grade engine oil. Much cheaper than your situation since I didnt need the oil pump replaced. My early warning signs were similar but catching it quickly prevented more extensive repairs. The engine has been running perfectly since the fix, no more oil pressure warnings or dark oil on the dipstick. Regular oil analysis checks show normal wear levels now. The key was addressing it immediately rather than waiting, which likely saved me from the more extensive repairs you needed. Make sure to stick to proper maintenance intervals and use quality oil filters going forward. This helps prevent future oil contamination issues that could lead to more serious engine problems.

I took it to my mechanic last week after noticing the warnings. They found metal particles in the engine oil and traced it to a failing oil filter that wasnt catching contaminants properly. The repair came to 850 Euro total, including a full system flush, new oil pump, and several related components that showed early wear. The mechanic explained that the oil sludge had started affecting critical engine parts, but catching it early prevented catastrophic engine damage. They did a complete oil analysis that confirmed contamination from the previous low quality service. After the repair, the engine runs perfectly with normal oil pressure. No more warning lights or dark oil on the dipstick. Really glad I didnt wait for the scheduled service as the oil contamination could have caused much more extensive damage. Going forward, I will stick to authorized service centers and quality oil filters to prevent similar issues. This experience taught me not to compromise on proper maintenance to protect against serious engine problems. Cost was higher than expected but still much cheaper than replacing a damaged engine. Definitely worth the immediate repair to prevent bigger issues.

Had similar issues with my 2015 A6 3.0 TDI. Engine oil contamination and pressure warnings should never be ignored, as they often indicate serious problems that can lead to engine failure. Dark oil color plus pressure warnings typically suggest oil sludge buildup or contamination. When this happened to my A6, the root cause was maintenance intervals being exceeded by the previous owner. The oil sludge had started clogging the oil passages, reducing oil pressure and proper engine lubrication. Required a complete oil system flush, new oil pump, and replacement of several components affected by inadequate lubrication. The repair was extensive since oil sludge had accumulated in critical engine areas. Get it checked immediately. Oil pressure warnings combined with dark engine oil are serious warning signs that require professional diagnosis. Continuing to drive risks severe engine damage. Best to have a full oil analysis done to determine contamination levels and identify any metal particles that could indicate internal wear. Would not recommend waiting for scheduled service, as oil-related issues can escalate quickly into major engine problems.
