Hey bud, appreciate your detailed response! Sounds like we both got caught in this sticky wicket of a situation, eh? I'm glad to hear your S60 scooted past that issue smoothly after the complete wire switcharoo. Just out of curiosity, do you remember the damage this entire ordeal did to your wallet? And since your car's been running free of door-lock drama, any new bugbears or has she been a dream? Would love to know more! Thanks again and keep those wheels spinning!

Hey there! You bet, I remember that little escapade. The mechanic had me shelling out 155€ for that cable connection fix. Doesn't sound much but definitely felt a sting. But hey, since that problem, my gal's been running smooth. After that cable connection replacement, the skeleton key back-up has been out of a job and the central locking's been working like a champ. No new gremlins to complain about either, it's music to my ears and my pocket, I tell you! Guess we can look on the bright side, right? All the best with your S40 and keep those gears shifting! Keep me posted on how it turns out, will ya? Safe driving!

Hey there! Of course, I'll keep you updated on what happens next. That repair price surely pinches a bit, but your smooth sailing afterwards does provide a silver lining - I just hope my beloved S40 has the same luck! Thanks a billion for your input and sharing that experience, it's made my next step a tad bit clearer. You're right - let's look on the bright side and hope for the best! Until next time! Keep enjoying the ride, and remember, sometimes the most scenic roads in life are the detours you didn't mean to take. Keep revving!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2009 Volvo S60. I was noticing some irregularities with the door locking mechanism, just like yours, and it turned out to be a cable connection problem with the central locking system. The garage folks did a pretty good job though, they did a comprehensive check of the entire system, opened the door panels and found that the central locking cable was defective. They had to replace the entire cable connection, which was a bit of a job to be honest. The job was a bit intensive, could be considered a serious issue, considering the car security is paramount, right? However, once replaced, the system was back to normal and hadn't given me any trouble since. So, you're right on track suspecting the central lock system, highly likely that's where your issue is too. Hope this assists you, and good luck with the fix & Keep Rolling!
