Hey, your answer is really helpful, thanks! But it sounds like quite a job to replace the control unit. Do you remember how much you had to pay for it? And have you had any other complications with your Citroën since then or has everything been fine since then? Best regards.

Hey, glad I could help! Yup, replacing the control unit was quite a job. But in the end it was worth it. It cost me around €1000. A bite, but it was worth it. Since then, my Citroën has been running like clockwork again, the light switch has also been working perfectly since the mechanic looked at it - no more flickering and no more lights suddenly coming on. So, everything has been fine since then. Hope this helps you! Best regards!

Hey, good news that my light problem could be fixed in a similar way. €1000 is certainly a lot, but if the car runs like clockwork again afterwards, then it's definitely worth considering! Thanks for sharing your experience. I will now make an appointment with the mechanic and see what he says. Thanks again and all the best with your Citroën! Best regards.

Hello, I know your problem very well. The control unit was defective in my Citroën C3 (built in 2009, diesel). At first I thought it must be the light switch, but after a few tests the mechanics at the garage were able to identify the control unit as the problem. It was a pretty serious problem because the ECU controls so many functions in the car, including the lights. It wasn't a quick fix and my car was in the workshop for a few days. Overall, it was a pretty annoying experience, but since replacing the ECU, everything has worked fine again. Definitely get it looked at by a professional before it gets worse. Good luck! Best regards.
