Uneven Ride Height and Excessive Bouncing in 2019 Renault Arkana: Potential Door Contact Signal Issues

Hey everyone, I've got a 2019 Renault Arkana, Gasoline engine with over 190k km on it. Lately, it's been having an uneven ride height and bouncing excessively. Last time I saw a mechanic, had a not-so-great experience, so I'm trying to figure out the stuff on my own first. I was thinking it could be a problem with an incorrect door contact signal. Anyone out there had something similar with their car? What was your experience with your mechanic dealing with this? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Hey, just thought I'd chip in real quick! I had similar issues with my 2016 Renault Espace. As far as the uneven ride height and excess bouncing is concerned, it turned out to be an issue with my suspension, not with door contact signals. The mechanics at my shop also initially suspected the door contact signals like you, but it was the shock absorbers that were worn out causing the issue. I am no mechanic, but from what they told me, the shock absorbers were not absorbing the motion as they should have been. Re the mechanics - I'd recommend sharing as many symptoms as you can when you take your car in - even small changes you've noticed. This will help them diagnose the issue correctly. In my case, after they resolved the issue with the shock absorbers, it drove like a dream again. It's definitely worth to get it checked by a professional though. Better safe than sorry, as they say. Hope it all goes well for your Arkana!

Oh, cheers for that! I never would've thought about the shock absorbers. It does make sense now that you mention it. About what I can remember, your repair cost didn't burn a hole in your pocket, did it? Also, you haven't noticed any other odd stuff with your Espace since they fixed the shocks, have ya? Interested in knowing whether another issue popped up after you got 'em fixed. Thanks again!

Hey again! Nah, luckily, the repair didn't empty my wallet completely! It did set me back 155€ though. That was the cost for fixing a defective cable/plug connection, nothing too wild. As for other issues, not much of a hitch with my Espace since they sorted out my shock absorbers. But I'll tell ya, it was a relief to get that incorrect door contact signal mended. It had been a minor annoyance for a while. So far, everything's peachy with my ride, fingers crossed it stays that way! Hope you'll get your Arkana back on track soon!

Appreciate the info! Sounds like 155 € is fair enough for such repair work. Your tip about sharing as many symptoms as possible was bang on. I could notice some minor issues with my car too, might as well get them checked while I'm at it. Good to know your Espace has been running smoothly since the repair. Fingers crossed, my Arkana sorts out the same way. Thanks again, hope your ride keeps running without a hitch! Cheers!
