Turn Signal & Error Code Issues, Nubira Electrical Help

Just had my 32359 KM service done last month, so these symptoms started showing up pretty recently. The error code is different than what you had, mine shows "E-145" which seems specific to the turn signal system. The broken lens on the right side signal lamp started acting up first, then the electrical fault spread to both indicators. No other electrical issues so far, headlights and dash working fine. But the turn signals flash way too fast when they work at all. Quick check of the bulbs shows they're still good, so sounds like I should look at that flasher relay connection you mentioned. Hoping it's just a wiring issue and not a full electrical system problem. Don't want to take it to a shop if it's something simple.

Yeah, that E-145 code is definitely signal lamp related, I had the exact same one on my Lacetti before the repair. The fast flashing is a classic symptom of a turn indicator problem, but since your bulbs are good, it's likely the wiring or relay. I'd check the flasher relay connections first. In our models, there's a common weak point where the wiring harness flexes near the relay connector. The insulation wears through and causes intermittent shorts. A basic lamp replacement won't fix it if the wiring is the culprit. When my signals started acting up, I initially thought a simple bulb replacement would do the trick. But after checking the wiring, found the bare spots near the connector. The broken lens you mentioned could have let moisture in, which might've accelerated the corrosion process on the wiring. Quick tip: while checking connections, pay special attention to the ground points. Poor grounding can cause similar symptoms and trigger that error code. Also worth inspecting the signal lamp sockets for corrosion since you mentioned a broken lens. Looking back, wish I'd spotted the wiring issue before it affected both indicators. Might save yourself some hassle by addressing it now while it's still mainly on the right side.

Thanks for the detailed reply. After checking the connections like you suggested, found the exact issue you described, worn wiring near the flasher relay connector. The broken lens definitely let water get in there and corroded the connections. Fixed the electrical fault by repairing the damaged section of wire and sealing it properly. Also replaced the broken lens while I was at it to prevent future water damage. The indicator light is working normally now and the E-145 error code cleared itself after the repair. Ended up being a pretty straightforward fix once I knew where to look. Sure beats paying for a full automotive lighting diagnostic at the shop. Quick test drive confirmed both turn signals are working correctly with no more fast flashing. Just need to keep an eye on that new lamp replacement to make sure no moisture gets in again.

Had a similar electrical fault with my 2008 Chevy Lacetti diesel. The indicator light symptoms match what you described, unusual flashing and error codes on the dash. After some basic troubleshooting, took it to a workshop where they found a damaged cable connection at the flasher relay unit. The wiring had worn through near the connector. Total repair was 95 Euro including parts and labor. From what I learned (have some experience with basic car electronics), these indicator/flasher issues often trace back to either: Faulty flasher relay, Damaged wiring/connectors, Bad ground connection, Blown indicator bulbs Before you head to a shop, could you share: Exact error code showing on dash? Does it happen with both left/right indicators? Any other electrical issues (dashboard lights, headlights)? Knowing these details would help narrow down if you're dealing with the same connector issue I had or something else in the electrical system.
