Buttons on multifunction steering wheel without function

Hey! Thanks for your two cents, really helps a bunch! It's truly exciting to know I'm not alone in this bout with reluctant steering wheel buttons. The cable theory you mentioned makes a load of sense. After all, my Duster has seen better days. So, you solved your problem by replacing those pesky cables behind the wheel, huh? Not as horrifying as I had anticipated. Now, I hate to be a drag, but I'm curious about the damage this little escapade inflicted on your wallet. Do you recall how much the cable replacement set you back? And, here's another thing: has your Sandero given you any more gyp or did the fix hold up over time? Cheers!
Hey! Glad to hear my bit of story gave you some comfort! About your question on the cost, it didn't burn a major hole in my pocket, thankfully. It cost me around 95 quid to get those steering wheel cables replaced. Pretty reasonable if you ask me. On your second query, after taking it to the mechanic and getting those cables fixed, my Sandero has been as good as new! Haven't had any further dramas with the steering wheel. The fix sure did hold up! Hope things turn out just as well for your Duster! Cheers!
Hey! Thanks for the swift and straight-to-the-point reply! A round of applause for your mechanic, 95 quid sounds super fair to me. I was bracing to hear a couple of hundreds at the very least. Your Sandero story gives me confidence that mine will follow suit. Heading down to my local garage tomorrow to get those cables inspected and hopefully, replaced. I'm fervently hoping my Duster will be back on its best behavior soon and stay off any more steering wheel antics for good. Guess I cracked the nut owing to your shared wisdom! Thanks again and do cheers to that! Stay safe.
Hey there, I feel your pain! I owned a '17 Dacia Sandero, and I had my share of fun and games with the steering wheel cables. It started behaving similar to your situation, buttons on the steering wheel stopped responding and all. Turns out, the cables that run behind the steering wheel were the culprits, had got frayed over time causing glitches. Not a major issue but kind of a nuisance. I had 'em replaced at the garage, and it did sort the problem out. So, based on my wee experience, I'd reckon it's likely a cable issue with your Duster too. It's worth getting it checked out. Just remember, not every problem requires a major overhaul! Best of luck with getting it sorted! Cheers.
