Troubleshooting Issues with the Blower and Rear Ventilation Flap in a 2014 Gasoline Fiat 500

Blower does not work properly

Hey I've got a bit of a head-scratcher with my 2014 Gasoline Fiat 500. It's been acting up odd lately, specifically the blower seems to have a mind of its own. I'm suspecting some issue with the rear ventilation flap, but not really sure. Anyone here experienced something similar and found a fix? Any advice or tips for troubleshooting would be ace. Cheers!

Hey there! Looks like we're driving sibling cars. I got a petrol Fiat Punto, a 2013 model. So, I'm no expert, just a bloke with a bit of experience tinkering under the hood. Faced a similar weird issue once. Turned out, the problem was with the cable needing a servomotor. My workshop guys sorted it for me and it set me back by €170. Probably just what your Fiat needs. Can you confirm your model, engine type, and whether the climate control is manual or automatic? That'll help in sharing a bit more detail. Keep me posted!

Hey, definitely sounds like a similar issue. Mine's a 2014 Fiat 500, gasoline engine. The climate control is manual. Trust me, this whole shenanigan's been a real headache and I can tell it’s been through a lot; mileage is up at 150009 km already. Just had the latest service, but no luck solving the blower biz. Would appreciate any extra deets you got. Cheers!

Well the plot thickens! My Fiat Punto was acting up around 140,000 km, so it seems we're again on the same page. Since we have similar setups, I reckon the issue could be the same. In my case, the servomotor was causing the rear ventilation flap to malfunction. It wasn't sending the right signals for the flap to open or close correctly, causing the blower to act all haywire. Now, since your little Fiat has manual climate control, the overall layout should be pretty much the same. You should be able to find the servomotor at the base of the heater assembly, tucked in behind the centre console. Troubleshooting this depends on your comfort level with tinkering – might prefer to leave this to your local mechanic. Servomotors are a common part and buying a new one shouldn't burn your pockets. It'll be less for the part and more for the labour. Just a heads up, try to find a mechanic who's good with Fiats – these cars can be a real tease if the mechanic isn't familiar with how they're designed. Hope this helps! If you have any more questions or updates, feel free to ask. Don't forget to let us know how it goes! Cheers.

Ace! Couldn't have detailed it out better. You're a lifesaver! It does make sense, now that you've brought the mechanic's hat to the table. So, looks like the servomotor is the lead suspect here. Much as I would've loved a DIY fix, under the hood is Greek to me, unfortunately. Got a cousin who's got a knack for this stuff and runs a garage; reckons he's handled a few Fiats before. Might just drop by to have it checked with him. Will keep you posted on how it goes. You've been a brilliant help. Thanks a ton! Cheers!
