Troubleshooting Heating/Cooling and Mirror Defrost Issues in 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

|

Mirror doesn't defrost

Hey folks! I've stumbled upon some odd issues with my 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid. Recently, it hasn't been delivering on the cooling/heating front and the mirror doesn't defrost properly. I've got this hunch that there's a problem with the defogging sensor, but I thought I'd ask for your wisdom to troubleshoot this issue further. Has anyone encountered the same problem and figured out a fix, preferably at the workshop? What was your experience like? Thanks in advance, everyone!

Hey there, nice to meet another Renault enthusiast! I drive a 2019 Renault Megane Hatchback and had a similar issue a while ago. I'm no car savant, just a regular Joe with low-level car know-how. Turns out, the problem was a defective cable connection wreaking havoc. Took it to my trusted workshop where they fixed it for about €155. Sounds like your issue might be in the same ballpark. Can you share a bit more about your car's condition, mileage, or any noticeable symptoms? Let's troubleshoot this together!

Hey there, glad to meet a fellow Renault fan as well! As for my Arkana, it's run about 169779 km so far, pretty smooth for the most part. I mentioned heating and cooling issues, but another symptom I've noticed is moisture build-up in the mirror housing. And the last service was just a couple of months ago. They didn't notice anything wrong with the climate control system at that time. Sure could use your help figuring this out! Thanks!

Hey, based on your symptoms, it definitely doesn't sound like a simple defogging sensor issue, especially with the moisture build-up in the mirror housing. It could be an issue with the door seals or mirror seals letting in moisture, or there might be a pinch in one of your A/C lines causing inefficient cooling/heating. Or like in my case, it might be a cable connection acting up. I'd strongly suggest taking your Arkana back to the workshop, preferably a Renault specialist given its mileage. Let them know about these issues and they can run a diagnostic to locate the cause. Cable issues can be tricky to pinpoint, but any professional mechanic will know what to look for. You might have to shell out a minor amount, but it's worth ensuring your ride runs smoothly. Hope this helps, and keep us updated on what you find!

Hey! I truly appreciate your insights and suggestions. The ideas about door or mirror seals or even the A/C lines sound like they're worth looking into. Well, it's not the news I was hoping for but at least now I got a line of action thanks to you. Will definitely take my Arkana to a specialist workshop and have them run detailed checks. Yeah, it will cost a bit but as you rightly mentioned, it sure is worth ensuring a smooth drive. Cheers for the solid advice, will keep you posted on how it all unfolds!
