Troubleshooting Heating, Cooling and Blower Issues in a 2011 Hyundai i10 Running on Gas

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

|

Blower does not work properly

Hey, got a tricky situation with my 2011 Hyundai i10, running on gas. It's recently not been cooling or heating up as it should and my blower isn't firing on all cylinders either. I'm guessing it could be an issue with the electric auxiliary heater, but I'm open to other suggestions. Has anyone faced something similar and can share what worked for them? Love to hear what you guys went through at your workshops. Cheers!

Hey there, I had a similar experience with my 2013 Hyundai i20, petrol version. Although I only have some experience with car stuff, I faced a similar issue. The culprit turned out to be the electric auxiliary heater, just as you suspected. I took it to my local workshop and after some tests, they diagnosed the same problem. Cost me a cool 350€ to get it fixed but it runs as good as new now. Just to zero in, is yours the standard or grande version and are there any other symptoms you're dealing with? More info might help me advise better. Hang in there!

Hey there! Thank you for the quick reply. Mine's a standard version and apart from what I already mentioned, it doesn't have any other noticeable issue. The mileage is around 71058 KM. Had its last service about a month back. The car runs fine but the issue with the heater and cooler systems is a bit concerning, especially with the winter coming up. I will definitely have the electric auxiliary heater checked at the workshop based on your recommendation. Thanks again!

Hey, no worries - glad I could share some insight. Given it's the standard version similar to my i20, it's pretty likely that the electric auxiliary heater might be the issue. Since there's no other significant issue and the car is running fine, that's the first culprit I'd point a finger at. Just a heads up, though. This particular repair can be a bit on the expensive side, just like what happened with me. Definitely worth it though, considering the comfort during these colder months. One more thing - ask your mechanic to check the blower motor as well. Sometimes the symptoms could be interrelated. Keep us posted on what you find out at the workshop. Take care and drive safe!

Thanks a ton for that advice. I think you're right about heading down to the workshop to get things sorted out. I also noticed your note regarding the cost, but honestly, with winter coming, I'm content with a bit of an expenditure to ensure the car is comfortable to use. I'll most certainly request the workshop guys to check the blower motor as well, smart suggestion that! Appreciate the help and will surely keep you guys updated on the situation. Keep those engine revving!
