Troubleshooting Call Answering Issue in 2021 Fiat Cronos with Gasoline Engine: Possible Hands-Free Mic System Glitch

Calls cannot be answered

Hey, I've got a 2021 Fiat Cronos with a Gasoline engine that's giving me a strange problem: I can't answer any calls in it. I'm suspecting it could be a glitch with the hands-free mic system, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. More importantly, has anyone else experienced something similar and had it fixed via a workshop visit? Would be great to know how they sorted it out! Thanks in advance.

Hey there, had the same issue with my 2019 Fiat Argo. Not a car guru, just got some experience to share. The problem turned out to be a wonky infotainment system. Dealer pin-pointed the glitch swiftly, had it swapped out. Cost me a whooping €815, but it worked like a charm afterwards. Do you have the car's vin number, software version or any other info? Thought might be able to help you tackle it better with slightly more details. Cheers!

Hi there, appreciate your insight. It seems that I'm now seeing the full picture - the infotainment system might be the culprit. A bit hesitant to cough up that kind of cash but if it relieves the headache, could be worth it. My latest service was done at 84011 km, and everything seemed fine with no major issues. Regrettably, I don't have the car's VIN or software version handy right now, but I'll try to get hold of it and update on here. Will check in with my local dealer about this too. Gratitude for offering your help! Cheers!

Hey bud! Good to hear, I totally understand your hesitations regarding that fix. Car issues can be a kick in the teeth to our pocket. But hey, that's the price we pay for convenience, right? It's indeed a relief, trust me. The frustration of not being able to answer calls while driving was driving me up the wall! Considering your latest service mileage, I don't reckon the issue should be anything too serious. And since it's a 2021 model, chances are it might be under warranty, did you check that? If so, the dealer might fix it at no cost. Worth a shot to inquire. Don't worry about the VIN or software version. Just thought they might come in handy, but your dealer should be able to find the cause of the problem without them. Do update us on your progress once you've checked in with the dealer. Pick their brain, see what they say. Could help someone else in this forum having the same prob. Best of luck fingers crossed it gets sorted out without being too harsh on your wallet. Cheers!

Hey! You hit the nail on the head with the phrase "kick in the teeth to our pocket" - a truer word was never spoken! But I'm hopeful because, as you mentioned, the car is under warranty. Silly of me, I completely overlooked that. Worth checking out indeed. I'd let go of my worries for a bit then, and the frustration would indeed be relieved. So, up next is a visit to my trusty dealer. I'll definitely report back once any progress has been made. Sure, it can definitely help another forum member in the same boat as us! Thanks for the encouragement, fingers are crossed indeed. Cheers to you too!
