Troubleshooting Black Smoke and Hissing Noise in 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid with DPF Regen Issues

Hey, Sounds bit like a problem I had with my 2017 Renault Kadjar a while back. Black smoke, sluggishness, and all. Ended up being damaged cables on the electric changeover valve. It was a serious enough issue; engine light and all, but fixing it did the trick and didn't have any more issues after that. The valve's job is to control the EGR system, and with damaged cables, it wasn't doing so correctly, which messed up the exhaust recirculation function. That might be what's causing all your trouble (withe the exhaust smell, DPF regen refusal and the smoke). At the garage, they simply replaced the cables and reset the codes. Can't say how it'll pan out for your Arkana Hybrid, but indeed, it seems pretty similar. You'll have this problem passed in no time, fingers crossed! Cheers!

When my mechanic got down to it, he tracked down the issue to the exhaust gas recirculation function being disrupted. Post fix, I can happily chirp that it's been smooth sailing.
