Troubleshooting and Workshop Solutions for 2012 Volvo S60 Diesel Engine in Transport Mode

Fault stored

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Some functions in the vehicle are not available

Hey folks, I've run into a weird issue with my 2012 Volvo S60 Diesel Engine. It's not acting right with some functions missing, a fault stored, and a persistent warning light on the speedometer. I'm kinda suspecting transport mode being activated by mistake. Has anyone else experienced this, got it sorted in their workshop? Would really appreciate your tips on troubleshooting and your workshop experience fixing it. Thanks!

Hey there, this takes me back to something that happened with my 2010 Volvo S80 Diesel recently. Now, I won't say I'm an expert or anything, but I do have some experience tinkering about under the bonnet. I'm thinking your suspicion about transport mode might be spot-on. The same warning light came up on my speedometer. Took it to my local workshop, and guess what? My old girl got jump-started which accidentally activated the transport mode. Got the issue fixed for 45 Euro, it was quite a sigh of relief I must say. Though, if you're having further issues, can I get some more info about your car? That way I might be able to help you narrow down what might be causing it. Cheers!

Hey there! Thanks for the response. Phew, I thought I was the only one buttling with this. Good to know I'm not alone. My S60 has about 85022KM on the clock, and I just got it serviced a few weeks back. Not having a great time with the warning light situation though, really hope it is just a transport mode issue like you experienced. If you think of anything else that might help, feel free to share. Cheers!

Hey again! Nice to hear back from ya. Ha! We Volvo drivers gotta stick together, right? Listen, dang similar situation happened to my S80 so let me drop some nuggets of wisdom here. It's interesting that you just got your car serviced, because I've heard of cases where transport mode can get activated after a service, especially if they disconnected the battery. That might have done it. Also, 85K kilometers is around the time when some quirky electronic features can start acting up. It's not too serious, but worth checking out when you can. My advice would be to just pop into your local Volvo specialist or even just a trustworthy mechanic. They should be able to diagnose it quite quickly - if it is the transport mode, it won't be a big deal to get it deactivated. Just remember, the quicker you get onto it, the less stress it will be, trust me on that one. Good luck, and let me know how it goes!

Hey again! You're a lifesaver. This Volvo brotherhood is something else, ha! I think you've hit the nail on the head - they did disconnect the battery at the last service. Your advice makes total sense, I won't leave it hanging any longer now. I'll drop by my local mechanic first thing in the morning and get this sorted out. Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it. Fingers crossed it's just the pesky transport mode. Will update here once it's sorted. Take care!
