Troubleshooting 2024 Seat Tarraco's Headlight Cleaning System Issues

Headlight cleaning system without function

Hey folks, I've hit a rough patch with my 2024 Seat Tarraco with a Gasoline engine. Lately, the headlight cleaning system has gone kaput, making me scratch my head. I’m guessing the washer fluid level might be running low. Anyone out there had the same gremlin? How did you and your garage sort it out? Any pro tips for troubleshooting this issue? Cheers in advance!

Hey. I'm not an expert, but I do have some experience with cars, especially a 2022 Seat Ateca, pretty similar to your Tarraco. I had a similar issue a while back. Thought the headlight cleaning system went on strike, turned out the washing liquid was indeed too low. What I did was I took it to my local workshop - trusty old Joe's Garage. They topped it up for me and didn't charge much - only 25.00 Euro. Before I can give you any more detailed advice though, can you tell me if you've checked the washer fluid levels yet? And, if you have, what do they look like? Let's start there.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! That’s a fair point, I need to check the washer fluid level first. I feel a bit daft now. Let me get back to you after I've done that. Just for the record, the last service was done at 184398 KM. But to be honest, I didn’t fully check every other fluid level after I collected it from the garage. I guess I've learned my lesson. I’ll probably contact Joe's Garage, watching my budget at the moment, and 25 Euro seems alright! Appreciate your help. Will keep you posted!

No worries, happens to the best of us. Life moves fast and sometimes these smaller car maintenance tasks slip by unnoticed, it's nothing to be embarrassed about. Been there, done that. I suggest you check that washer fluid level first and foremost. If that doesn't solve the problem and your system is still being grumpy, I recommend you also inspect the fuse for the headlight cleaning system. In my Ateca, I once had the fuse blow out and caused similar issues. Just don't get too worked up over it, it’s usually not a complicated fix and Joe will sort it out without burning a hole in your pocket. Keep me updated, happy to walk you through the process as needed! Drive safe.

You’re a lifesaver! I’m beginning to feel less like I’m in over my head. I’ll check the fluid level and the fuse as you’ve suggested. If the trouble continues, I’ll swing by Joe’s Garage. I do hope it’s something as straightforward as you say – fingers crossed! I appreciate your advice and support. Will definitely keep you updated. Take care and happy driving!
