Hey there, Wow, that sounds like a right royal pain in the exhaust. I've got to say your description helped a lot though, I was dealing with a similar issue on my Arkana not too long ago. Spot on with the injector problem diagnosis - was a right muck up for me till we figured that out. Now I'm curious, do you remember the dent it put in your wallet? Mine wasn't cheap to get sorted out – the injector replacement and fixing the aftermath of it running amok for a while did hurt. And did anything new pop up after you got it fixed? Cheers for sharing your experience, really helpful! Keep your wheels turning!
Hey back at ya, I hear you! These hitches can surely give you a good kick in the wallet. I remember very clearly the pain when I had to shell out a cool 515€ to get that pesky defective injector taken care of. But trust me, the improvement afterwards is worth every euro. Since getting the work done by my mechanic, that functional limitation of the injection was shown the door and it's been nothing but smooth cruising ever since. My Renault is now running like a dream, no new tricks from her! Black smoke, stinky exhaust, stalls - all those nightmares are gone. And oh, fuel efficiency - way better! So, keep that chin up! It might be a nasty bill to swallow, but it's a one-time deal, and it certainly feels like it added years to my Renault's life. Hang tough and get that Arkana rolling smoothly again! Stay safe on them roads!
Hey there! Thanks chaps, you've given me quite a clear picture now. Your experiences sound exactly like mine, resonates with what I've been facing. I suspected the injector but needed some assurance. This definitely convinces me to bite the bullet and get it sorted, regardless of the cost. My poor Arkana deserves some love after the miles we've shared. I can't wait to see her purring smoothly on the highways again, leaving that black smoke and stinky exhaust behind. Will call the mechanic first thing tomorrow, get the injector checked and replaced if necessary. Your confidence in this getting sorted out gives me a good deal of hope too. Totally agree that it'll be a penny well spent if it gets my Arkana back on track and thriving! Thanks heaps for your detailed responses, really appreciate it. Time to pull out the chequebook, eh? Take care, and happy motoring to us all!
Hey, From what you're describing, your hunch might very well be right. Sounds like you might have a defective injector. I own a 2017 Renault Megane and had a similar issue not too long ago. I also experienced frequent engine cut-offs and higher-than-usual fuel consumption. Once my mechanic dig into it, he figured out it was indeed a defective injector. There's no beating around the bush, it's a serious problem. The defective injector was actually messing up the fuel-to-air ratio in the combustion chamber, which was causing my Renault to drink more fuel. Leaving it unfixed could lead to other engine problems down the line. Getting the injector replaced did the trick, it's been solid ever since. Once the work was done, my car started to perform well again. No more weird stalls at idle and no heart attack inducing stalls on the motorway! So yes, it's a serious issue but it is fixable. Make sure you get it checked out soon and be adamant about them checking into the injector. Cheers and take care of that Arkana!
