Troubleshooting 2019 Renault Arkana ABS/DSC System Fault and Warning Lights Issue

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

ABS/DSC system is not working

ABS warning light

Fault stored

Hey car gurus, I've got a bit of a problem with my 2019 Renault Arkana with a Gasoline engine. Lately, the ABS warning light keeps flashing, the ABS/DSC system refuses to work, and I've got a warning light sticking out in the speedometer. There's also a fault stored which I think might be due to a functional restriction in the ASC system. Has anyone encountered this specific issue before? How did your workshop handle this? I'd really appreciate your insights and experiences to help me troubleshoot better. Thanks!

Hey there! First off, let me just say I'm no expert mechanic, but I've got some hands-on experience with cars myself. In fact, I own a 2017 Renault Kadjar; a different model, sure, but it had a remarkably similar issue. I took it to my trusted local garage. It's not a high-end repair shop, but they do a heck of a job for a good quality/price ratio. After hooking up my Kadjar to the diagnostic, the chap at the garage said my "ASC relay was defective" – sounded like Greek to me, I won’t lie! To repair it and get rid of all those warning lights, it cost me around 90 euro, if memory serves me right. That said, your situation might differ, depending on various factors. By chance, do you know precisely what the fault code of your Arkana is? That could shed more light on your situation and help you down the line. Hope this helps you out a bit, and good luck with your Arkana!

Hey, thanks for the quick response! I'm not sure about the exact fault code, but I can definitely get that checked. Your case does sound similar to mine, and I'm relieved it wasn't too expensive to fix. Guess it's high time I should visit my local workshop. By the way, I just hit 11392 km on the odometer at my last service. This issue has really got me concerned; haven't faced anything like this before on the Arkana. Let's see how things turn out at the workshop. Thanks again for your insights!

No problem! I'm glad to help where I can. Don't worry too much; these things happen, and honestly, it's part and parcel of owning a car. One piece of advice I can give is to always get a read of the fault code. Knowing what it is can sometimes help you narrow down the problem, and you might even be able to fix it yourself. By the way, your mileage of 11392 km is quite low for a car as recent as 2019. The ABS/DSC system is pretty robust, and issues usually don't crop up that early. Do you happen to do a lot of heavy braking or drive on bad roads? Those could potentially wear down the system faster. Anyway, all the best with the workshop. Keep us posted on how it goes. Chances are, other folks would find your experience useful if they end up in the same boat!

Cheers for the reassurance and the useful advice! I'll definitely get the fault code read, that sounds like a good idea. And to answer your question, I mostly drive in the city with the occasional country road every now and then – but nothing too intensive, I'd say. Your point on my car's mileage makes me wonder if there might have been a manufacturing glitch. I'll make sure to ask the workshop guys to check on that. As for heavy braking, I try to keep it to a minimum but I suppose there are always those unpredictable situations, right? I'm making a note to update this thread once I've had the necessary repairs done. Hopefully, this can help someone else in need. Thanks again for all the help and the friendly chat. Take care!
