Troubleshooting 2019 Kia XCeed's Electrical Glitches, Park Distance Control Issues and Faulty Radar Sensor

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey guys, my 2019 Kia XCeed's acting up a bit lately with a few problems like park distance control being non-functional, some general electrical glitches, and the car even stored some faults. The warning light on the speedo has also come on, which got me thinking the radar sensor might be on the blink. Anyone faced something similar and can share some troubleshooting tips? Was particularly interested to know how your workshop got the issue resolved. Cheers!

Hey there, had a similar issue on my 2017 Kia Ceed a while back. I'm not much of a car expert myself (just enough to know when to take it in for a check-up), but from what I've figured, it was due to a dirty sensor. Took it to my local workshop and they were spot on at diagnosing it. The fix? A good ol' cleaning of the radar sensor which cost me a round 45 Euro. Worth every penny, if you ask me. Problems vanished after that. Although, I reckon the exact issue might differ based on details like the milage and warranty status. Any chance you could share more about your XCeed? Would help me in providing a more tailored solution. Cheers!

Hey, thanks for the quick response. My Kia XCeed, although a 2019 model, has already done about 101780 KM. Just crazy right? To think I only got it not too long ago. I actually took it for a service recently, but the shop didn't find any underlying issues then. I suppose I will take it back to them and ask about the radar sensors. It is just quite a hassle, but from what you're saying, it really seems like the sensor might be the issue. Cheers!

Heya! Wow, that's a fair bit of distance you've covered there! But no worries, my Ceed also had around the same mileage when it started throwing tantrums. Since your recent service didn't unearth anything, it does sound increasingly like a sensor issue. Remember to mention your previous electrical issues as well to the mechanic, it might help them diagnose whether it's an isolated sensor problem or an overall electrical hiccough. On a side note, after my sensor clean-up, I have made it a point to perform routine inspections and to clean the radar sensors myself to prevent any future issues. Just a gentle wipe down with a soft, clean cloth does the trick. Could be worth a try if you're inclined to some basic DIY and to save a few Euro along the way! Don't stress too much, Kia's are pretty hardy, and I'm sure yours will get back up and running in no time. Best of luck! Keep us posted on how it goes. Cheers!

Cheers for the additional tips and reassurance! It's definitely put me a bit at ease. I will definitely bring up the electrical issues when I take the car in. Plus, the DIY routine cleanup tip sounds like a splendid idea to keep on top of things. I'll give it a go this weekend and drop the car at the shop next week. I'll make sure to keep you guys posted on the problem and the solution. A big thank you for taking the time to help out. Until next time! Cheers!
