Hey, thanks for your reply. It sounds really scary that it could be the transmission control unit. Do you happen to remember how much the replacement cost you and were there any other problems afterwards, or did everything go smoothly? Sounded to me like you experienced more than you wanted to.

Hey, no problem, you're welcome! The repair of the transmission control unit cost me quite a bit, €1000 to be precise. It was quite a lot at first, but what can you do, if it's broken, it has to be repaired. But to come back to your question, after the mechanics replaced the thing, mine ran like clockwork. So don't worry, the transmission oil pressure sensor problem was also fixed. Didn't have any more problems after that. Keep your fingers crossed that everything runs smoothly for you too!

Wow, that was quite a sum, but I see what you mean. Better a one-off expense and no further problems. That gets me a bit further. Thanks for your experience and tips! I'll keep the transmission control unit in mind and hope that it won't be that bad for me. I'll definitely take it up with the garage and see how it goes. Hopefully they'll do a better job this time. Wish me luck, guys! In the meantime, thank you again for your valuable help!

Hello, I can understand your concerns. I had a similar experience with my 2010 Renault Mégane. However, it wasn't the transmission oil pressure sensor, it was actually the transmission control unit that was faulty. The symptoms were similar to yours - the grinding, the slipping, all that. It was a serious thing, I have to say. At the workshop, they had to remove the old unit and replace it with a new one. Could be something different for you, of course, but it sounds very similar. It's not an easy job, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Keep your fingers crossed that it won't be so dramatic for you.
