Hey, cheers for the advice! Just like I suspected, it's the oil. Kinda relieved it's not a bigger fix. Your tale got me wondering though, 'bout how much this is gonna set me back. Mind sharing what they charged you for the service back then? Also, has anything else cropped up since the fix, or has it been smooth sailing? Much appreciated!
Hey again! I'm glad my story might have helped point you in the right direction. When the same issue hit my Mini Cooper, it cost me 365€ back then - that's to restore the transmission oil levels to where they should be. Ever since that mechanic tinkered around and fixed things up, I haven't had a similar problem - and that includes the faulty transmission oil pressure. Anything that hasn't been smooth sailing since then isn't related to the transmission. So yeah, it seems to have been money well spent! Hope this brings some comfort as you get ready to foot the bill. Fingers crossed your Mini will soon be back in top shape too! Take care, fella!
Hey, that's a load off! Your info is really handy. Guess I'll just have to set aside some dollars and head down to my trusty mechanic. Hopefully, my beloved Mini will stop sounding like a haunted concert hall soon. Thanks so much for your insight and sharing your experience. It’s really appreciated. Fingers crossed my experience will be as peachy as yours. I'll drop an update once it's all sorted. Cheers!
Hey there! Your symptoms remind me what happened with my own car, 2018 Mini Cooper, a while back. Same issue - transmission acting up, gears grinding and whining. After a bit of digging at the garage, turned out the transmission oil level was seriously low. Trust me, this is not something to ignore, considering the crucial role transmission oil plays in keeping everything smooth. It lubricates, cools, cleans, and protects the transmission parts. A lack could lead you to more serious damage down the road. The process to fix it wasn't too bad. My mechanic initially did a thorough inspection to figure out why the oil level was low - checking for any active leaks or any sort of damage. The next step was, of course, filling up the transmission oil to the needed level. The issue got fixed and my Mini is back to its normal self after that service. Start with your transmission oil level - you might just need a top-up. Good luck!
