Hey, you're very welcome! So, I paid €155 for the repair of the wiring harness and plug. Since then, my car has been running perfectly again. And you were right to suspect the fuel volume regulator. This was also faulty in my car, but the mechanic dealt with it straight away and no further problems have arisen since. So, don't be discouraged, I'm sure everything will run smoothly again once you've found a good garage. Good luck with that!

Hey, 155€ sounds really acceptable and I'm relieved to hear that everything has been going well for you since then. It's relieving to know that my suspicions about the fuel volume regulator could be correct. I'm going to start looking for a trustworthy garage right now to finally put this behind me. Thank you for your support and the good information!

Hey, I had a similar experience with my 2013 Toyota Auris Diesel just last week. It said the wiring harness/plug was faulty. Seemed to be serious as the car was clearly running smoother afterwards. After the mechanic replaced the plug and some cables properly, the symptoms such as black smoke, jerky driving and increased fuel consumption were gone. The problem with the engine simply stalling was also resolved. So it seems that the wiring harness or the plug could have been the cause. Maybe you should take it to another mechanic or trusted garage and ask them to take a look at the wiring harness and plug. Hope that helps you. Good luck with that!
