Hi, thanks for the tip! In my Passat, it could also be the mass air flow sensor. Do you remember roughly how much the repair cost you? And have you had any other problems since then? Many thanks for your help!

Hey, no problem, I'm glad if I can help! So since the visit to the mechanic, the intake manifold pressure sensor malfunction on my Golf has been fixed. He took care of the intake manifold pressure sensor wiring harness, apparently it was open or shorted. So it wasn't as wild as I thought and cost a very reasonable €95.0. Since then it's been running like clockwork again and there have been no further problems. Hope this helps you and keep your fingers crossed that your Passat will soon be running smoothly again!

Great, thank you! 95.0€ sounds really feasible. I'll take it up directly with the mechanic tomorrow. Hopefully it's just the sensor. Thanks again for your help, I'm really relieved! I'll let you know again when I know more. Have a good trip with your Golf at all times!

Hey, I recently had a similar problem with my 2007 VW Golf. The effects were similar to yours - rough engine running, loss of power and increased fuel consumption. The mechanic in my garage found that the mass air flow sensor was broken. It had to be replaced, but it was no big deal and now it runs like a dream again. Hope this helps you! Let me know how it turns out.
