T-Roc Navigation & Electronics Failure After Service Visit

Having issues with my 2022 T-Roc (73185km, gasoline). Car electronics acting up with unusual electrical failures and navigation system completely dead. Suspect transport mode might still be active from last workshop visit. Anyone dealt with similar problems? Looking for advice before heading back to a mechanic for a diagnostic check.

I experienced similar electrical issues on my 2019 VW Golf GTI. The automotive electrical system showed unusual malfunctions including key fob problems and intermittent engine start failures. The root cause was indeed related to transport mode remaining active after service. This is actually a serious issue since it affects multiple control modules and can lead to system-wide malfunctions. The workshop needed to perform a complete diagnostic check and reset several control modules. The fix required: Full system scan using professional diagnostic equipment, Deactivation of transport mode via special command sequence, Control module resets, Battery voltage verification, System adaptation procedures After these steps, all car electronics returned to normal operation including the infotainment system. These symptoms match your situation closely, particularly the navigation system failure which is typical when transport mode remains active. Getting this resolved quickly is important as continued operation in transport mode can potentially damage sensitive electronic components. A qualified technician with proper diagnostic tools should be able to resolve this in one session.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I dealt with nearly identical issues with my T-Roc last winter, unusual vehicle setting failures and a completely dead infotainment system. Got it fixed with a software update and transport mode deactivation at the workshop. The car electronics have been working perfectly since then. How much did the repair end up costing in your case? Also wondering if you experienced any recurring issues after the fix? My key fob occasionally acts up but nothing major so far.

Thanks for the follow-up. Happy to report the transport mode issue was permanently resolved with the dealer fix. Since then, no recurring electrical glitches or immobilizer problems at all. The navigation and all vehicle electronics continue working as intended. The repair was completely free in my case since the Golf GTI was still under warranty. The technician confirmed transport mode should never remain active after service, so they covered the diagnostic check and software update as a warranty claim. Your occasional key fob quirks might be worth mentioning during your next scheduled maintenance. Sometimes these minor issues can indicate a control module that needs recalibration. Best to have it checked while the vehicle is still new rather than waiting for it to potentially worsen. The diagnostic tools they used identified and cleared all transport mode settings in under an hour. Having proper equipment really makes the difference for resolving these electronic gremlins completely rather than just temporarily.

Thanks for the feedback. I took my car to the workshop yesterday after seeing these responses. The mechanic confirmed the transport mode was indeed still active and causing the electrical problems. The diagnostic check revealed multiple car configuration errors. They performed a complete software update and ran system resets which fixed everything. The immobilizer and navigation are now working perfectly. Total cost was 180€ for the diagnostic and reprogramming work. The technician mentioned they see this issue occasionally when transport mode isnt properly deactivated after service. Everything is running smoothly now, no more unusual failures with the vehicle settings or electronics. Glad I got it sorted before any permanent damage occurred. Much simpler fix than I initially feared. Really appreciate the advice that helped identify the likely cause before the workshop visit.
