Thanks for sharing your experience. I had very similar issues with my T-Roc where the adaptive headlights were misbehaving and the headlight switch kept showing errors. The control module needed replacement along with some wiring work. The whole repair process sounds identical to what you described. A quick question, do you remember the final cost for your repair? And has everything stayed stable with your headlight range control since the fix? Mine has been running fine for 6 months now but always good to know what to expect long-term.

Thanks for asking about the costs. The headlight range control repair on my Golf was completely stable after fixing it. I paid 1040€ for the complete repair job, which included the new servomotor and all necessary calibration work. Since having the beam adjustment and electrical connectors sorted out, the light intensity has remained perfect without any warning lights or errors. Its been 18 months now with zero issues. The initial cost might seem high, but proper repair with quality parts really makes a difference for long-term reliability. Based on your description, sounds like they did a thorough job on your T-Roc too, so you should be good for the long run.

Thanks everyone for your input. Finally got around to having my T-Roc fixed last week. The lighting system repair went smoothly and cost me 980€ total. The mechanic I found took time explaining the whole process and showed me the faulty control module. The beam adjustment is now working perfectly and those annoying warning lights are gone. They also cleaned all electrical connections while doing the repair. Really glad I went ahead with fixing it despite my initial concerns about finding a reliable shop. The headlight range control has been stable for the past week and the low beams stay exactly where they should. Night driving feels much safer now. Will update if anything changes, but so far the repair seems solid.

Had this exact headlight issue on a 2019 VW Golf TSI. The auto-leveling system was malfunctioning, causing unusual headlight positions. The warning light in the instrument cluster appeared after the headlights started behaving erratically. The root cause was a defective servomotor in the headlight assembly controlling the range control system. Diagnostic scan revealed multiple electrical connectors had corroded, affecting the entire lighting system communication. The servomotor needed complete replacement since repair wasn't possible. The repair involved: Full diagnostic scan, Removal of headlight assembly, Replacement of servomotor unit, Cleaning all electrical connections, Recalibration of auto-leveling system This was a significant repair requiring specialized equipment for recalibration. Without proper repair, the headlights would continue to adjust incorrectly, creating unsafe driving conditions especially at night. The faulty auto-leveling also risks blinding oncoming traffic. After repair, the system worked flawlessly with no recurring issues. Would recommend having this fixed soon as its primarily a safety concern. Worth noting: Postponing the repair often leads to additional damage to related components in the lighting system.
