T-Roc Engine Mount Failure Causing Rough Idle & Codes

I also had the same problem with my T-Roc. The defective engine mount caused severe vibrations. Like you mentioned, the rough idle was really noticeable. My mechanic confirmed the motor mount failure after inspection and suggested replacing both sides. The fix worked great and my engine runs perfectly smooth now. Would be interested to know your repair costs. Mine was done 8 months ago and no issues since then, but always good to hear long-term experiences from others. Did you end up having any related problems with vacuum lines or electrical connections due to the failed mount?

Great to hear your engine mount repair resolved the vibration issues. Since my initial mounting bracket replacement, there have been zero problems with engine stability or rough idling. The failed mount did cause a loose connection in one of the electrical plugs, but fixing that only added 95€ to the total repair cost. The defective engine components really could have led to more serious damage if left unfixed. But after 20000km of driving since the repair, everything has remained solid with no vacuum line issues or electrical problems. The early detection of the mount failure probably prevented additional wear on surrounding parts. Regular inspection of engine mounts is now part of my maintenance routine, especially since experiencing how quickly a deteriorating mount can affect overall engine performance. The investment in proper repairs definitely paid off in terms of smooth operation and preventing further complications.

Thanks for taking my vehicle when the engine mount gave out. Could tell right away it had the same symptoms you described, really rough idle and those annoying vibrations. Cost me 850€ total including parts and labor. The mechanic showed me the old rubber mount and it was completely shot. Pretty wild how bad those vibration issues got before fixing it. Now after 8 months everything runs perfectly smooth. No problems at all with vacuum lines or electrical stuff, probably caught it early enough. Thanks again for sharing your experience. Really helped confirm what I was dealing with. Glad we both got it sorted before any major damage happened. These mounts seem like a common wear item worth keeping an eye on.

Had similar symptoms with a 2020 VW Golf GTI. The rough idle and error codes pointed to a failed mount on the transmission side. The motor mount wear created abnormal vibration issues that got progressively worse, especially at idle and during acceleration. The diagnostic revealed the rubber in the mount had deteriorated, allowing excessive engine movement. This caused additional strain on other components, including electrical connections and vacuum lines. Mount failure can lead to more serious problems if left unchecked. The repair involved replacing both engine mounts since they typically wear as a pair. After the fix, the vibration issues completely resolved and the error codes cleared. The work took about 4 hours at the shop. Been running smooth for 15000km since the repair with no recurring issues. Worth getting it checked soon, as a compromised mount can cause accelerated wear on other engine components and transmission parts. The symptoms match classic signs of mount wear, particularly in VW engines of this generation.
